Tonight after we had talked about the sixth commandment, You shall not murder, a friend came to talk to me about the cross. When we look at the Ten Commandments and see that it is impossible to keep them and even if we did like the rich young ruler we can never keep the standard that Jesus sets in the sermon on the mount. It is then that we need to stop and say, "Thank You for the cross." Without the cross we are guilty of breaking everyone of the commandments but Jesus took our guilt upon Himself and paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. Thank You for the cross, my Lord.
