This blog is about what we are teaching in the adult Bible class and Sundays at Six at Gregory Drive Alliance Church of Chatham, Ontario. We have a passion for the Word of God as it reveals God. It is our desire that everyone in the class will be students of the Word.

Thank you Art
I have said a great deal about education in the last few blog entries but I have to add my thanks to one teacher who taught in a Christian school. I will call him Art as that was his first name. He taught our daughter biology but he taught it from a Biblical world view perspective. A few years later our daughter is taking her degree in nursing. Nursing has a non=Biblical world view but in spite of the influence of her professors she kept coming back to what we had taught her and what Art had taught her in her Biology class. So my word to Christian teachers, make sure you teach your subject from a Biblical world view.

Jo I think you answered your own question. The importance of a good foundation is what we all want for our children, a Godly foundation. When I was little My Oma would always remind us how fortunate we were to have godly parents who taught us the Bible and the things of God. Perhaps the most import time to influence a child is from the time they are 1 or 2 till they are about 7 to 10. Whoever has access to those little minds will probably be able to influence them for life. Daniel too had a good foundation. He was raised with an excellent knowledge of the scriptures and not the kind where he had to learn a memory verse ever week to get a chocolate bar. His knowledge of the scriptures led to him to an intimate relationship with God, one that was demonstrated throughout his life, he is best descibed as a man of no compromise. It has been said that every man has his price, that is to say at what price will you sell out your convictions. What would my price be if I was removed from my protective surroundings and from my onwhatching family and friends. If I was encouraged to give in to a wicked culture and could fulfill all my lusts, would I have the conviction and the relationship with my God that would keep me from compromising the way Daniel did? Perhaps this is all too real. Perhaps if we really looked around and took stock at what is happening in our culture and our churches we would see that we are not immuned from that kind of tempation and realize that the devil will not stop attacking us. Having a relationship with our God, the kind that Daniel had, is what we all need to be striving for. Thankfully we don't live in a culture or society that would make us put our lives on the line for our convictions but that could yet come and we should all be ready if it did. People say they have conviction about sin and punishment untill that sin is commited by their children, they say they have conviction about honesty untill their Boss asked them to cover up something or they might lose their job. Maybe a little dihonesty will save them a lot of money and the list goes on and on. I am looking forward to much good discussion on all of these things and looking forward to this study to see how God will convict and teach me to live with the same kind of conviction that Daniel had. thanks and please excuse any spelling mistakes.
