As I approach the teaching of the warning in Hebrews 10 I must say I do so with much fear and trembling. These warnings are writ en to believers as is evident by the use of the word "we". We cannot write them off as hypothetical or just losing one's reward. It is easy for us to rest upon the promise that we are secure as a believer but that security comes with a warning. It is God who keeps us secure but we have to live in that security by faith. It is by no accident that the author moves from this warning into the great chapter on faith.
One book that has helped me a great deal in this study is by Thomas Schreiner and Ardel Caneday called The Race Set Before us.
