TIA

We soon developed a saying in Uganda. When things didn't happen on time or when things just didn't happen the way we expected them to we would say, "TIA", this is Africa. As North Americans we expect things to happen on time but that is not the way things happen in Africa. They may say 11:00 but then it may happen at 11:30 or even later. We had to get over our North American hangups and go with the Africans. Here are some pictures of our first experiences in Africa.
Curtis checking out the kitchen where our lunch of rice and beans or rice and matoke was cooked everyday.
Curtis finding a better place to view the wildlife.
A beautiful spot in Queen Elizabeth Park.
Curtis, Steve and I in Queen Elizabeth Park.
African scenery. What a beautiful place.
Driving was an adventure. A good driver needed a good horn. We soon learned to trust our driver but I am not sure he would last long in Canada.
Most of the homes were made of brick but some had grass roofs.
TIA. This is Africa and I have so many stories to tell.
