Serving his God

Daniel was a faithful servant. He served when things were tough as a young man snatched from his home, when things went well as he saw Nebuchadnezzar grow in faith, again in bad times when Belshazzar ignored him, and again in better times under Darius. If he was tempted to quit or retire he remembered Who He was serving. Interestingly Belshazzar promised him the position of third ruler in the kingdom but could not deliver but Darius who was tricked into distorting try to destroy Daniel promoted him to number two position.
