He wrote the book.

Well we finished our series on Jonah and I will never see Jonah the same again. Someone asked if there was a fifth chapter as the book ends abruptly. What happened to Jonah? Did he see his sin?
Personally I think he did because he wrote the book. He was the one that told us about his encounter with God. Yes, he wrote the book.

I believe Jonah wrote the book and that he saw his sin, or at least someone very close to Jonah wrote the book who heard the account first hand from the prophet. Only Jonah could have recorded the events of the book, and only a humbled and saved Jonah would write it in such a way that he is continually seen as a completely foolish sinner in desperate need of mercy. Nowhere in the book is Jonah seen in any kind of positive light.

He certainly was willing to make himself vulnerable. The lesson of God's grace was more important than his own reputation.
